Happy New Year!
by Audrey Wong
January 31, 1995
New Year's Day comes twice a year to San Francisco. The year 1995 started on January 1st. The year of the boar starts today.
While the westernized version of New Year's Eve is usually one day of debauchery, Chinese New Year carries a heavier meaning for many people.
"It's all American holidays rolled into one," Ernest Chan, 50, said. Chan, an amateur historian said, " There's the firecrackers, that's your Fourth of July for you, we exchange gifts like we do for Christmas, a family dinner like Thanksgiving, and we have flowers like Easter."
Chan said traditionally Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festivial is a private holiday, reserved for family, relatives and friends.
Mei Yu, a waitress for Uncle's Cafe in Chinatown said Chinese New Year is a time for family. One day is set aside for the nuclear family where they have a special dinner together. Then the rest of the new year festivities are spent visiting relatives and friends.
Madeline Leung, a member of the Chinese Historical Society, explained the traditions and customs of Chinese New Year in more detail.
"Before the new year, it's time to spruce up. We buy new clothes anad make sure it has some red in it. It's a time for spring cleaning, the whole house is washed, dusted and decorated with flowers....you get all your bills paid so you could start off the new year good," Leung said.
Leung explained anything in the red range symbolizes good luck. That includes oranges and tangerines which are piled in a pyramid shape.
"Piling the oranges means it's closer to heaven," Leung said.
Families offer the pile of citrus fruits to ancestors as a sign of respect. The offerings include burning incense and fake money.
The color red is also incoporated into the lysee or gifts of money tucked into red envelopes. Leung said only married people can give lysee away but everybody gives gifts of candy or oranges.
According to the Handbook of Chinese Horoscopes, by Theodora Lau, the emperor Huang Ti introduced the concept of the lunar calendar 2637 B.C. The lunar calendar runs in 60 year cycles which are further divided into five year cycles of 12 years each.
Lao wrote the concept of animal horoscopes stem from a Buddhist legend. Supposedly Buddha summoned the whole animal kingdom to bid him farewell before he left earth. Only 12 animals came to say good-bye so Buddha rewarded them by naming each year in the cycle after them in the order they arrived. Rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and pig.
More than a century since the Chinese arrived to the United States to build railroads and mine gold, Chinese New Year remains basically Cantonese, Chan feels. But an influx of modern times, other Chinese ethnicities and American ways have altered Cantonese traditions to a point.
'The parade is definitely American," Chan said.
Subtler details such as food and the amount of lysee have changed.
"In my day, I got 25 cents in a red envelope. Now people put in a lot more money these days," Chan said.
Chan also pointed out Chinese from Singapore will display tropical fruits like durians instead of the usual citrus fruits. People are also going out more for Chinese New Year when they used to stay at home, Chan said.
SF State liberal studies senior Tarina Chau said the United States spends one day celebrating Chinese New Year while in people in China take 10 days off celebrating the New Year.
Chan said the reason for the shortened celebrations is the fact people can't take that much time off work.
Some people pick and choose which traditions to follow.
Dale Chung of the SF Wu Shu Martial Arts team said every person follows the customs to a different amount.
"I'm not going to kill a live chicken for dinner but I won't have knives in the house during Chinese New Year, that makes sense. This is Chinese American, it's a hybrid culture. My parents passed on but I still remember the traditions and I can give that knowledge to different generations," Chung said.
"My mom doesn't burn the incense for our ancestors anymore because she believes in Christ," Melvin Mah, a City College student said.
William Ng said he didn't plan to do anything special for Chinese New year. "I'm just going to get money. I get a day off from Galieo High. I'm just going to stay home," Ng said.

Shiling Night Market
Da-Dong Road was lined with many clothes stores and shoe stores.Since it was not yet dark, the streets were not that crowded as I had imagined.Turing to Da-Nan Road, from the distance we could see a long line waiting to buy "pan-fry bun".I jointed the line and bought one, disappointedly finding it was not as tasty as I had expected. Then we went on to try "snowflake ice".Yummy!
We left Shiling Night Market about six-thirty,the time crowds of people began to flood in.Though stuffed to death,I will never regret having gone to Shiling Night Market. On the contrary,I'm planning to go there again!
Taiwan Storyland
Slogans could be seen on wire poles.Old songs could be heard here and there.I went into a grocery store and saw the cookies we liked to eat when we were little.I went into a classroom and found the setting were pretty much the same as the present one.I also looked through the window to see the out-of-date TV set and record player in the living roon of a house. All the scenes were foreign and new to me.I had ever seen those sights on TV,but that was the first time I experienced the atmosphere in person,as if I were born in that period.
Teachers who teach Taiwan history should really take students to Taiwan Storyland,in the way students can know and experience what it feels like to live in that time.

Mark Liu
But Mr.Liu is never strict with us.Actually he sometimes tells interesting stories in order that we won't feel sleepy. And it is always fun to listen to the way he talks. However,in yesterday's class,it was quite unusual that he only taught little from the textbook. He told us the story of Quaker, his roommates during Stanford University years, and some intersting news connected to the law.Besides,he criticized the way we modern teenagers act.
It is incredible that he talked "nonsense"in the whole class.Yet he claimed the atmosphere was improper so that he was in no mood to teach.Though yesterday's class seemed to be a time-wasting one,I feel what Mr.Liu said can be usedul knowledge to broaden my horizons.
You can search things about Mark Liu in Wikipedia. Here is his homepage: http://geocities.com/markliu8/

Stuffed To Death
As we entered,I was surprised that there were still people eating. Was it a late lunch or an early dinner?I wondered.Having chosen which kind of broth we would like,we walked to the bar and took whatever we wanted to eat.First we added vegetables into our pots, what came next were all kinds of ingredients, such as seaweed, bean curd, taro, needle mushrooms, agaric, black sweet rice cakes, noodles and so on so forth.Since it was an all-you-can-eat bar,we could eat to our hearts' content.
It was not until my tongue burned that I went to take an icy Coke.I just ate too fast! When I ate up all the ingredients in my pot,the other two just hadn't finished theirs yet. Then I went on to have some disserts and ice cream.Compared to them,I thought I ate much more food. But as I just finished my ice cream,I knew that I should stop,or I would have an upset stomach.
We left the restaurant at about five-twenty.I was stuffed to death!I thought that it would take a long time for us to eat hotpot again.

Christmas in Finland
Families gather together on Christmas Eve which is the most important day of the year in Finland. Most children who have grown up and moved away from home plan to return to their parents home for the holiday. The shops across the nation close at noon so everyone has to have their shopping done by that time.
At the stroke of noon the "Peace of Christmas" is proclaimed in Turku, the former capital of Finland, Some of the Christmas readings heard on the broadcast date from the Middle Ages. This marks the "official" beginning of the Christmas celebrations and most families enjoy the first part of their Christmas meal at this point.
Around 5 p.m., families go to the churchyard, for a special service where candles are placed on the graves of departed loved ones. It's a breathtaking sight to see thousands of candles flickering in the Finnish twilight.
On Christmas Eve, children await the arrival of Father Christmas. He differs from his counterparts in other nations in that he actually enters the house for a visit at this time instead of during the night when the children are asleep. Father Christmas always asks the same question upon his arrival: "Are there any good children here?" The answer is always an enthusiastic "Yes".
The kindly gentleman has a basket filled with gifts and as his helpers distribute them, he tells about his journey from his home in Lapland and how he must hurry along to complete his rounds. After the children sing a final Christmas song, he moves on his way to visit other homes in the area.
Remembering the birds is a custom in rural areas of Scandinavia at Christmastime and is in keeping with the general tendency to try to share the festivities with all the animals so that the coming year will be a prosperous one. A sheaf of wheat or some other grain, or even just seeds and bread, is placed on a pole and set up outside where the birds are known to congregate.
The sight and sound of the outdoor festivity at the birds "Christmas tree" can add greatly to the zest and warmth of the indoor celebrations.
The picture on the right depicts the sheaf of grain along with Christmas greens and red ribbons tied to a streetlamp.

I Can't Help It
I recalled having been so exaulted the first day when I went to my new school and met my new classmates.I recalled the times when we saw "Friends" together and laughed loudly.I recalled the times we made fun of the one who had just got soaking wet.I recalled the times when some of you grumbled as I announced that there would be an English test the next day.I recalled the times when we spoke ill of the classmate we disliked.I recalled on the graduation's day we all cried since we did not want to leave one another at all!
Those are past, but memories left. Not until I entered college did I know that the memories of senior high school are the most precious ones.I will always bear them in my mind, forever.

Mini Class Reunion---Day 2
Then I woke Tameness up,and she took me to the store, run by the agricultural academy of NTU,to buy a carton of milk.We took a small walk, and she introduced whatever we saw, such as the name of the building, along the way to me.I found that NTU was such a beautiful school,or more specifically, like a park.I coulld see all kinds of people in that "park",from children playing around to senior citizens doing exercise.
We(totally six people) had lunch at an Middle East style restaurant called Sababa.I would not remember the names of each dish on the menu, but the only word I remember was "Pita",kind of the main food in the Middle East.Pita tasted good, and trying Middle-Eastern cuisine ended up as a new and fresh experience to us.
At about three o'clock,we made our way to 五分埔.Since all of us hadn't gone there before,we had no choice but to ask the local people for direction.Little did we know that 五分埔 occupies such a large area and, again, there were so many people and the alleys were so narrow! The clothes there were inexpensive, and what's more, they were nearly the same.I bought a cloth and a scarf, costing me only three hundred dollars in total.
At about six o'clock in the evening,we reached Raohe Street night market. It was a long street, with crowds of people and lots of stands. We waited in a line for so long to buy pepper cakes, which is the best-known food of that night market. We did not spend much time and money there. When we got on the bus,it was only six-fifty.
My two-day trip ended as I said goodbye to them at Taipei Train Station.Though reluctant to part,I knew there were always chances for us to get together.

Mini Class Reunion---Day 1
There were many bicycles put in National Taiwan University, especially outside its dorms. At about six o'clock,we five people rode the bikes to National Taiwan Normal University and met with our two other classmates there. The two took us to eat the well-known food at the night market near their school,or the so-called NTNU night market. It's true that there were lots of food and clothes sold there, but I felt so crowded and uncomfortable as I passed through the small alleys that I could hardly stand still and buy something. Finally we bought crepes and went back to NTNU to have a seat eating them.It did taste great! No wonder there was such a long line waiting in front of the crepee store.
We ate the cprepes, watched TV,and chatted a lot things, mostly surrounding the current affairs of our other classmates. At about ten o'clock,we said goodbye to the two and rode our bikes back to NTU.NTNU night market is such an ideal place to eat food and shop, except that you go there on Friday or weekend nights.

Vitas
Because of the intense expectation of a great number of fans here in Taiwan,he finally came and held a concert in Taipei half a year ago.I DID want to go,but I couldn't,for that I had to prepare for the big exam in July.Still eager to have his album, fortunately,I had a chance to go to Shanghai Video Center to buy one.Now that I have his album on hand,I can listen to his beautiful voice whenever I want.

Family Reunion
Soon the sophomore led me to the restaurant. It was such a high-class restaurant, with the decor modeled on the original one in Osaka,Japan. Not knowing what to eat,I ordered one recommended by the junior, since she had gone to the restaurant for five times.(But the restaurant just opened this summer...=^=)I was quite amazed as I found that the survant did not write down the dishes we ordered on a paper;instead, she commited all of them to memory!
The pork chop I ordered DID impress me.Frankly speaking,it was the tastiest pork chop I had ever eaten!Though it was far from cheap,I felt that the value of deliciousness did bear its high price. We chatted a lot, from the professors of the school to our interesting experiences.I also got some information about what jobs we can take after we graduate from college.
At about two-thirty,the junior paid the bill and then we left the restaurant.Though it took me lots of fare and time to keep the appointment,I savored the delicious pork chop and, knew more about the juniors of my "family".

Followed By A Dog
As we stepped into the Welcome supermarket, the dog was hesitant to enter along with us,but it ended up lying in the porch.Ten minutes later,as soon as I stepped out of the entry,I was surprised to find it still lying there! What's more, while we were walking for a long distance heading to the 全聯 supermarket,it also "walked" behind us.Sometimes it "walked" more quickly, even overook us.I thought it found we were so boring that it wanted to go elsewhere. But little did we know that it suddenly stopped and "waited" for us!How interesting the scene was!I had ever heard dogs could make friends with humans, yet I had never imagined that such a thing would happen to me!
When we walked into the 全聯 supermarket, this time,it DID enter with us.It wandered around,"walked" along the aisles, and sniffed at things it took interest in on the shelves.Strangely enough, after we paid the money and left the 全聯 supermarket,it did not follow along.I couldn't figure out why it stopped "walking" behind us,probably because it lost interest in us,and probably it was just enchanted by the food in the supermarket.Somehow I got a little disappointed, worrying that it would be kicked out by the owner,if it kept staying in the supermarket.

Music To Me
Music is the magic.Cool down and listen to music,it can change you feelings miraculously.Though I'm not good enough to play songs to soothe myself when I feel down, merely appreciating music is satisfactory to me.I'm obliged to those who created such beautiful songs.Without music,I cannot imagine what my life would be.

What I've Done
Out from entry No.8,we first had lunch at Fu-Shen-Ting.There were so many people that we had to wait in line to order our meals. The pork chop there tasted good, despite the fact that it cost me one hundred and forty dollars. Then we headed to Rainstory in Miszukoshi to buy a firm and heavy-duty umbrella.I bought a Totes umbrella, which is considered the best brand of umbrella in the world.I chose a relatively slighter one, considering it would not increase too much weight of my school bag.The umbrella cost me more than six hundred, but with its famous brand and one-year limited warranty,I think it was worth it.
But our shopping "journey" did not finish yet.We spent almost three hours shopping at Station Front Metro Mall and spent most of our money there.Strangely enough,we didn't buy many things, but our money WAS spent quickly.I think that was because each product we bought was far from inexpensive.

Dorm Life---Part II
I'm glad that I have three nice roommates.First of all,not all of them have the habit of staying up late, there is one who tends to go to bed early like me.Second,we have similiar opinions toward the same topic. For example,in order to keep a clean space,we have made a time sheet distributing one to do roomwork, such as sweeping, mopping, and cleaning the toilet,on fixed working days.Normally in our room,if one studies hard in preparation of next day's tests, three others will have tacit understanding to keep quiet. If it is time that we four want to revel,we will chat a lot and joke all together wholeheartedly.
All in all,I feel so lucky to have these outgoing and friendly inmates sharing the room with me.But for them,I would not lead such a merry and joyful dorm life.

Dorm Life---Part I
There are three other students sharing a room, with a toilet and a shower in it.The moment I stepped into my room,I was quite surprised at its spacious space.I had never thought that a school dorm room could be so large!(Maybe it's because this is a new-built campus?...)But I also found that there are some defects, such as lack of an air-conditioner,deficiency of refrigerators, kitchens and some other electronic appliances.
In order to solve the food-stored problem,a couple of weeks ago we four all granted to buy a freezer put in our room.,and it was not long before it "arrived".It is indeed a must, though small yet very convenient.I cannot imagine what our life would be without that refrigerator!

Never Forget
"Yeah...I'm now standing at the front door...and I wear a yellow T-shirt.Do you see me?"I asked.
"Ah,I think I see you...",she answered on the phone.
Finally I saw her,Yo-Yu,an intimate roommate during my first and second years of senior high.We hadn't seen each other for three months, while we almost saw each other everyday during our roommate days. She didn't change a lot on appearance, except for her hair style. She seemed to have had her hair cut rather shorter!
Then we went to a restaurant called "Bakku",which we had long planned to go.The decor was unique there and the furniture was all antique.Though the price was quite high for each person,we didn't mind it at all.For one reason,we were both gluttons;for another,we thought that the value of our reunion was much more important than the cost of the meal.We don't even know when we will meet next time!
We chatted a lot of things, from our old friends' affairs to my recent campus life.I take pity on her for that she did not study hard during her senior high school years and would have to rejoin JCEE next year.
Before I got on the tram,I waved farewell to her, hoping that she could attend her ideal college.Though we will go our own different ways in the future,I will always remember the happy times we ever had.

I remember
though I refused.
I remember the day you asked me to give you cakes I baked,
though I rejected jokingly.
I remember the day you sat in the classroom silently,
listening to my playing the piano.
I remember the day you scolded at me,
when you saw I giving a letter to a guy.
I remember the day we exchanged cell phone straps,
with our names printed on them.
You know how exalted I was when your mother admitted our relationship?
You know how worried I was when you fell off from the stairs?
You know how anxious I was when you suddenly fainted on the hallway?
You know how heartbroken I was when you told me you wanted to stop exchanging diaries because your mother disallowed it?
Still,I cannot tell whether we were lovers ever before.
Maybe we were, because we acted just like lovers.
Maybe we weren't,because you never confessed to me in person.
But one thing I know is that our love did fade away,
after that heartbreaking event.
Here, again,I stand in the flow of memery recalling you and echoing.
But so sad that you don't even reply to me,again.

Online Auction
A couple of weeks ago,my roomate and I started to browse some clothes and accessories on online shops. The clothes on the models looked so beautiful that it was not long before we set our sights on some specific items.Though it was quite a complicated process to really get one's desired products,we could not help but place orders on five clothes in total. But a few days later we felt more and more regretted and wanted to cancle those orders. However,we failed and were soon informed to take our products a week later at the a nearby convenient store. As the day went near, somehow I got more anxious for the arrival of our clothes.
I will not forget the moment when I ripped off the bags and finally saw the clothes which I had been looking forward for a week.Instantly a thought came to my mind that I had made my money down the drain! The texture was so terrible and they were definitely not as glorious as I had seen on the online shop! What's worse, the seller did not accept returned goods.
Though being upset,I felt that I have used money as an exchange for a good lessen that under no circumstances does one place an order on something before he or she really see and touch it.Curb your desire and never buy things on impulse!

Splendor of the Baroque and Beyond
Beginning around the year 1600, the demands for new art resulted in what is now known as the Baroque. The word baroque probably derives from the ancient Portuguese noun "barroco"[citation needed] which is a pearl that is not round but of unpredictable and elaborate shape.A defining statement of what Baroque signifies in painting is provided by the series of paintings executed by Peter Paul Rubens for Marie de Medici at the Luxembourg Palace in Paris (now at the Louvre),in which a Catholic painter satisfied a Catholic patron: Baroque-era conceptions of monarchy, iconography, handling of paint, and compositions as well as the depiction of space and movement.(quoted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baroque)
Not knowing which picture I should choose as my topic,I saw all paintings hung on the wall and quickly wrote down any important information on my notebook.Because we didn't follow a narrator or rent audio tour service,we had more freedom to see whichever painting we like. But soon we regretted---we had no idea which one was worth paying much attention to and what more stories were about the painters!
Finally we chose three painters as our own topics and left the exhibition hall at around twelve o'clock. Before our leave, we went to the gift shop to buy some souvenirs as symbols of our arrival.Though I spent only three hours visiting National Palace Museum,I acquired a lot of artistic knowledge and Biblical stories from the Baroque.

A History Class
After Group 3 having done their report on Myanmar Saffron Revolution, the teacher gave them some suggestion and told the whole class that because there would be something emergent for her to deal with, she would dismiss the class before three o'clock. Then she told us several stories, true stories which happened around her.
The teacher have helped many students who have ever been stucked in a hard time in their lives. She did so many good deeds yet God did not repay her equally. Her daughter was diagnosed as a strange disease which cannot be cured presently.I may not remember all stories she told, but this one impressed me very much.I was moved when the teacher described the symptoms her daughter suffered from.I felt so sorry that such a lovable girl should ccome down with that incurable illness, with only two hundred and more in the world suffer from it.
Thanks to this class, though it lasted just about an hour,I did learn a lot of philosophy of life from it.And thank you, teacher,I feel that it's a true blessing to own a healthy body and have so many people care about me.I will always cherish what I have,forever...

The Way I Enjoy My Life
Unfortunately, as a college student now,I have no time and no money to afford such a desired life. But to me,simply listening to my favorite songs, reading my favorite novels, and going out with my friends can make me happy.I enjoy being with them---my friends and my family. At present I may not be qualified to deserve such a dream life, yet I know that I always have the chance to make my dream fulfilled,as long as I make up my mind and strike for it.
Global Citizens
Since a little girl,I have been taught not to make water running, not to litter willingly, not to use disposable tableware too often, and not to throw away things which still can be used easily. As if by magic, those preached eco-friendly conceptions and slogans have deeply rooted in our minds.Somehow I come to practice those dos and don'ts in my daily life. When I have to buy something in a supermarket, the first way I consider reaching there is to walk or ride a bike, then I will choose to take a bus for the last choise,if not within a walking distance.Once I leave a room,I keep a habit of turning off the lights and all the other electroinic appliances. If I get a flier,I will be more likely to keep it as a calculating paper.
Generally speaking, most people in the world,or global citizens, have been aware of the global problems and tried to solve them.As a member of global citizens,I will keep carrying through eco-friendly practice and prevent people who intend to destroy our living place.

Upcoming Mid-term Exam
What an awful situation it is!The postponement totally bungles my schedule!I have planned that the next Saturday I will have an appointment with my senior high schoolmate in Taipei City,I have planned that on November 24 I will return home and meet my old friend, and on November 25,I have planned to go to the reunion of my family. But now I have to cancel all of them,or to postpone them to December, until the mid-term exam period completely ends.
Next week I will have to take two exams---Accounting and Economics. With the all-pass candy which symbols good luck my seniors gave me,I hope that I will do well in both of them.

The conference was started at nine o'clock in the morning.Several minutes to nine almost all students of accounting department were already seated in the conference hall. After the inauguration and the speech of Mr.Sunder,a professor from the U.S.,everyone who took part in the conference got a lunch box for free. And after the first speech ended, refreshments of many kinds were settled outside the conference hall.
The last speech ended at about five-thirty.I felt that I learned a lot of accounting knowledge from today's conference.I was delighted that our school hosts Accouting Theory and Practice Conference this year.I'm looking forward to tomorrow's speeches!

I have got all-pass candy both from the direct sophomore and the direct junior seniors.I'm glad that the inventor of this practice could conceive such a thoughtful and sweet way to encourage one who have just entered a totally unfamiliar surroundings.I'm also thankful to my seniors who gave all-pass candy to me.(Actually I got two from the direct junior senior)I hope that I can get all-pass among all the subjects not only in the up-coming exam but in the later exams in my future four years!

So I learn to cherish...
So,this is the reason why I still went home regardless of the up-coming mid-exam.I felt that my family will have less and less chance to see one another.I studied in northern Taiwan, while my brother in southern part.I know my brother and I will not see each other more often after we both graduate from colleges.I know he will path the future way for himeself and will make it.I know I will learn to create my own future without the help which he uesed to give me. I know we will keep going our different ways despite the fact that we are brother and sister by blood.
Last Friday my family---including my brother and I, had a sweet dinner time together.I almost forgot when and where our last dinner time happened.I just found that we had not got together for a long long time.Though the dinner time was short, somewhat I became to cherish our family time more than before.

Revise My Comprehensible English Enhancement Plan(Homework)
(1)Listening:I can fully understand main points in the news and broadcast audio, though there are some specialized or unknown words.I can follow a lecture or a talk in standard English.I can also follow clear speech in everyday conversation.
(2)Reading:I can catch main points in specialized articles outside my field, though sometimes facing difficulty with unfamiliar terms or phrases.I can read articles quickly and easily especially on subjects related to my interests.
2.I would not revise my specific goals but add three more points to my specific actions:
(4)I should spare my time to write at least two articles per week in my Englsh blog.
(5)I should go to English Corner at least once per week.
*The previous three ones are listed in the old English blog.
http://mypaper.pchome.com.tw/news/wanru629/
3.Since I love English so much, however hard I am busy with my schoolwork,I would try my best to fulfill those specific goals and actions.I have confidence in realizing them.
4.I do not take other English classes outside the school. But I hope that I can preview the articles in the textbook and finish all the homework the teacher assign before taking English classes on Fridays.
5.Here are some websites that I intend to visit:

Family Reunion
We(totally eight people)got the restaurant at about six-thirty.It was an all-you-can-eat restaurant. There were three other families held the family reunion with us.(cuz the four sophomores are good friends)We ordered spaghetti, cakes, fries, puddings etc. and chatted a lot. After a short while,I was so stuffed that I could not bear eating anything!(though I could still order another dish or dessert).I was so happy that I had such a chance to make friends with four other new schoolmates. At around night-thirty we took some pictures and then left the restaurant.
This was the first reunion of "my family",and I did have a great time.I'm looking forward to the next family reunion (with the junior)!

Table Tennis
When I entered senior high school, playing table tennis remained the favorite sport in all my PE programs. We had to found a partner to improve the speed of catching a ball as well as to pass the exam,so we always serve a ball that was easily to be catched.
In my fresh year of collage, again,I chose table tennis as my PE program. We students in the PE class were divided into several groups to have a contest. It was that moment I realized how the wrong concept in senior high had deeply rooted in my mind. That's right, the person standing on the other side of the table is anything but a partner---it's actually an opponent, when in a contest. You don't need to serve a ball that is easily for your opponent to catch.
So,after losing two games, recently I have spared my time to practice playing table tennis with diligence with my friend. We both feel that we have made a lot of development.I believe that the more efforts we make, the more gains we will obtain.
